Taking a deep breath before you start eating and looking at your food with your eyes is different than just “knowing” what you are going to have.
Really enjoy your meal!
2 - There is no bad and good food!
Trying to fit food in categories as “bad “and “good” can make us feel guilty by eating the “bad” ones.
Food is food.
Being able to understand why you eat and how you eat, can help you make choices that you will feel happy, and not guilty.
3 - Take your time to really enjoy the foods you love.
Eat slowly, enjoying every single bite.
Have a ritual.
Try to pay attention to all the flavors and textures!
Enjoy the moment.
4 - Why are you eating? Do you feel stressed? Frustrated? Tired?
Do you ever find yourself eating with no “real” hunger, but because you are stressed, upset, anxious, frustrated, tired, sad or even just because you’re bored?
Try going for a walk, having a bath with some essential oils, listening to your favorite music, taking deep breaths, having some water, dancing or even talking to a good friend. They will help you even more than eating a whole bar of chocolate or a whole bag of chips, which would just give you 5-10 minutes of false “relaxation”, plus the guilty feeling.
5 - Ditch restrictive diets once for all!
Restrictive diets can stress your mind and body and lead to the yoyo effect.
Learning how to eat can show you that you can eat anything and have the body that you feel good in, that you can maintain and be happy with.
